1) to familiarize students with the concepts and issues involved in negotiations.
2) to make them better negotiators through an awareness of behavioral traps and the effective use of debunking techniques.
In this class, students will learn how to negotiate in English using the “Harvard Method” and other techniques. By so doing, they will improve their English-language proficiency, sharpen their business skills, and become better negotiators. The following lecture segments will be presented during the fall semester: Negotiation: the Basics, Persuasive Techniques, Cross-Cultural Negotiations, Dealing with an Angry Public, How to Debunk Misinformation, and Behavioral Traps.
