大学公開講座のセカンドアカデミー

映画の世界は史実を知れば知るほど、往年の名作をもっと楽しむことができます。ディスカッションやリサーチを通じて歴史的背景を考察する映画好きの方を対象としたコースです。受講生は、授業開始前までに講師が指定する作品を鑑賞し、その映画が制作された当時の歴史的背景について自身の考えをまとめる必要があります。ひとつの作品の中にはストーリーだけでは見えてこない政治的な意図もあり、いかに忠実に歴史的背景を映し出しているか等を考察することで、映画の奥深さを知ることができます。さらに、授業では映画製作の面白いエピソードや隠されたメッセージ、重要な歴史的要因についても講師のサポートを受けながら自身の考えを発表する機会が設けられます。単なる映画のディスカッションを行うコースとは思わないでください！その作品が制作された時代背景や真にオーディエンスに伝えようとしているメッセージ性をつかみ取り、現代の私たちに時を越えてどう伝わるかを一緒に学びましょう。講座情報は変更される場合がございます。最新情報は大学ウェブサイトでご確認ください。

プロフィール	Grant Stillman is a diplomatic historian and international lawyer with a lifelong interest in film and theater studies. His doctorate in International Relations was awarded by Monash University and he obtained a Master in International Law while studying as a fellow at Georgetown Law Center. He is pleased to return to Temple after a midcareer sabbatical at the Geneva Institute for Advanced Studies where he completed his book on global non-government organizations. Grant's original research on the Cold War movies "Dr. Strangelove" and "Dr. No" continues to be the most frequently downloaded article from the Film History journal website. A former critic, he also enjoys supporting community theater. For TUJ he teaches public international law, international trade law, legal writing, NGO law and governance and --his latest - the new film history course "Hollywood vs. History".

プロフィール	Maiko Sawada has worked for the Financial Times, the French Embassy in Japan and other established global media outlets, businesses and administrations. As a result she has a great deal of experience in the organization of sophisticated and multi-lingual work environments. She now teaches English Communications and International Studies in Japan. She just likes people. She graduated with a B.A. from the International Christian University, Tokyo, and earned her M.A. in International Studies from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland.
