【目標】
1)to increase students' knowledge of theme-related vocabulary
2)to provide an opportunity for students to discuss their opinions with others
【講義概要】
This course will be conducted in English， but the textbook has Japanese notes to explain the idioms for your better understanding of them. Various themes will be covered each week: trying to cover at least two lessons in each of the classes depending upon the average-ability level of the students in the class. Themes covered will be: 1) Mind and Heart & Body， 2)Color & Animals， 3 )Plants & Food， 4)Things We Wear & House and Furniture， 5)Life and Death & Numbers， 6)Time & Names， and 7)Money & Weather. More lessons might be covered if time remains: Air and Water & Earth and Fire， World & Body(2)， and Sports & Others.How the Class Works: 1)Introduction to Theme-related Vocabulary Items， 2)Covering a short reading/listening selection， 3)Doing various exercises: comprehension， fill-in the blanks， short listening-dictation practices， and 4)Discussing 2 Discussion Questions for each theme in small groups， or with the entire class.
