【目標】
The course is designed to expose students to high-frequency vocabulary and expressions used to discuss geography， politics， and culture. It is also designed to stimulate student interest in some of the serious problems facing the global community today.
【講義概要】
The teacher uses a multi-media approach. The usual format of the class consists of a brief presentation of some important or interesting news story， followed by a short video related to the textbook， and a discussion/question-and-answer period. There is also a special topic that is presented during the term. This usually is conveyed through a PowerPoint presentation. The textbook and the special topics are changed every year.
