講座詳細
【学習内容】
In this intermediate level course, students will improve their English skills by listening to NHK textbook newscasts, reading brief newspaper and internet articles, discussing the topics, and making brief presentations on areas of personal interest. Additionally, through the textbook exercises, students will learn strategies for improving their TOEIC scores and will be encouraged to plan a systematic self-study program.
【学習方法】
The class will be structured into three parts. Part one will be an informal whole-class discussion in which each student will introduce a brief (2 min.) topic of interest. In part two, we will be using the textbook and/or brief news articles to build vocabulary, listening comprehension, and discussion of the topics. Note: Articles will be posted on the class website. Part three will be devoted to developing presentation skills. Two or three students will make an individual (3-5 min.) presentation in each class. Each presentation will be followed by a Q & A session and a whole-class discussion of the topic. In order to actively participate, and fully enjoy these activities over Zoom, a PC will be required for this course. About one hour will be needed to prepare for class.
【対象者】
To fully appreciate and enjoy the textbook and articles, a minimum TOEIC score of 500 or EIKEN Level 2 is recommended.
【期待到達度レベル】
Students will gain a greater sense of comfort and confidence in communicating.
